Welcome to Merthyr Mawr Estate
Nestled within a landscape shaped by centuries, the estate's deep connection to the natural world is matched only by its historical significance. Here, past and present meet in perfect harmony.
The Estate Is Characterised By Its Unspoiled And Picturesque Beauty.
The estate is characterised by its unspoiled and picturesque beauty centred around the small village of Merthyr Mawr with its collection of pretty thatched cottages. The idyllic, rolling landscape which surrounds the village is bisected by the Ogmore and Ewenny rivers which form an estuary to the west of the village, before running down to sea.
Lying between the village and sea, lies the 840 acre (340 hectare) Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve and SAC. Managed by the estate, it is a haven for wildlife, and home to the Big Dipper, the second highest sand dune in Europe.
