Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using the Merthyr Mawr Estate website or accessing the Estate and its facilities. By using this website or visiting the Estate, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Website Usage

This website is operated by Merthyr Mawr Estate. By accessing and using this website, you accept and agree to the following:

2. Bookings & Reservations

The following terms apply to accommodation bookings, event reservations, and spa sessions:

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Estate.
  • A deposit may be required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due prior to your arrival date unless otherwise agreed.
  • Cancellation policies vary by booking type. Please refer to the specific terms provided at the time of your booking or contact the Estate Office.
  • Merthyr Mawr Estate reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings at its discretion.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to Estate property during their stay.

3. Permit Conditions

The following conditions apply to all permits issued by Merthyr Mawr Estate, including horse riding permits and dog walking permits for the Warren:

  • Permits are non-transferable and must be carried at all times while on the Reserve.
  • Permit holders must comply with all Reserve rules, signage, and any directions from Estate staff.
  • Horse riding permit holders must hold public liability insurance of not less than £2,000,000 and provide proof upon request.
  • The Estate reserves the right to revoke any permit without refund where terms and conditions are breached.
  • Permits are valid only for the period stated and must be renewed upon expiry.

4. Liability Limitations

Visitors access the Estate and its grounds at their own risk. In particular:

  • Merthyr Mawr Estate shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of the Estate, its grounds, facilities, or activities, except where caused by our negligence.
  • The Estate includes areas of natural terrain, waterways, sand dunes, and woodland. Visitors should take appropriate care and supervise children at all times.
  • We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal property, vehicles, or animals while on the Estate.
  • Our total liability in connection with any booking shall not exceed the amount you have paid for that booking.

5. Estate Rules & Regulations

All visitors to Merthyr Mawr Estate are expected to:

  • Respect the natural environment, wildlife, and protected habitats within the National Nature Reserve.
  • Follow all signage, marked paths, and designated access areas.
  • Keep dogs under close control and clean up after them. Certain areas may require dogs to be on leads.
  • Not light fires, barbecues, or use sky lanterns on the Estate unless in designated areas with prior permission.
  • Remove all litter and leave no trace of your visit.
  • Park only in designated car parks. Vehicles parked elsewhere may be subject to removal.
  • Not engage in any commercial activity on Estate land without prior written consent.

6. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time by updating this page. You are expected to check this page periodically to take notice of any changes. Continued use of the website or Estate following changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
